Born and raised in Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire, England, Guest got her start in modelling when she came across an advertisement for modelling, while she was attending college. She appeared as a Page 3 girl in The Sun and has appeared in magazines like Loaded and FHM, among the others previously mentioned. She also appeared in the Playboy video Shagalicious British Babes.

She was one of the first models to successfully appear on both soft core glamour and more explicit magazines. Indeed Jo would often pose showing both her anus and her vulva, and in many pictures the full length of her vaginal slit from behind, a trend of glamour photography which only started in the UK in the 1990's. She became one of the few models able to show her vagina from behind whilst also keeping her breasts in the shot.

Guest did pose for some 'simulated' hardcore shots. In the simulated versions, which were released soon after they were taken, Jo frequently used her hand to block full view of her mouth and vagina. The men in these photo shoots were fully erect and Guest posed for many photographs while holding their erections only millimetres away from her open mouth or vagina.
